Jeffrey H Cooper
Chairman & Executive Managing Director
Mr. Cooper is an Executive Managing Director of Savills US, with over 30 years of experience in real estate investment banking, investment management and capital markets activities. In the past five years, he has been involved in over $3 billion of real estate transactions and has been responsible for spearheading the firm's health care real estate practice. Previously, Mr. Cooper was employed for almost 19 years by Eastdil Realty where he was an Executive Vice President and member of the management committee with responsibility for the firm's $4.5 billion investment management activities in the United States and Europe, as well as Eastdil's financing and investment sale activities. Mr. Cooper was also responsible for overseeing Eastdil's ventures with the Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. of Japan and Bayerische Vereinsbank AG of Germany.
Immediately prior to joining Granite Partners, Mr. Cooper was a Senior Managing Director of Secured Capital and co-head of that firm's New York office. He also served as a Senior Director of Cushman & Wakefield with responsibility for the firm's national real estate investment banking activities. Mr. Cooper earned an A.B. degree cum laude from Colgate University where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He also holds a J.D. degree from Columbia University School of Law, graduating cum laude and is admitted to practice law in New York. He served to the rank of Captain in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Mr. Cooper is an active participant in the Urban Land Institute the Zell Lurie Institute of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. He is also a member of the American Bar Association.
Gerard V Mason
Executive Managing Director
Mr. Mason co-founded Granite Partners LLC, predecessor to Savills US, with John Lyons in 1996. Throughout his career, Mr. Mason has completed in excess of $11 billion in transactions in office, retail, industrial, multifamily and hotel properties. Mr. Mason represents a blue chip client base of institutional, public and private investors, including CALSTRS, CALPERS, Simon Properties, The Rouse Company, First Industrial REIT, Lend Lease/Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs/Archon, Prudential, Pennsylvania REIT and Ohio State Teachers among others. He also has a special expertise in strategic planning for public companies with significant real estate assets.
Prior for forming Granite Partners, Mr. Mason was a Managing Director and senior partner at Eastdil Realty. From 1989 to 1996, Mr. Mason was responsible for the sale and financing of major properties in New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Boston. From 1982 to 1989, Mr. Mason served as vice president at Merrill Lynch Hubbard in the real estate syndication group. Mr. Mason is a graduate of Columbia University and is active in the Urban Land Institute and the International Council of Shopping Centers. He is also a frequent real estate commentator on CNBC's "Wake Up Call."
Jeffrey W Baker

Mr. Baker is an Executive Managing Director of Savills LLC with over 20 years of experience in real estate investment banking. During Mr. Baker's career he has completed over $12 billion of real estate transactions involving major office, retail, multifamily, industrial, resort/marina and mixed use assets located throughout the United States and Caribbean basin. Representative clients include: Goldman Sachs, Blackstone, CSFB/DLJ, Island Capital, Blackacre Capital, Lazard Freres Partners, Morgan Stanley, Lincoln Properties, Prudential Insurance, Baupost, Bell Atlantic,Tishman Speyer, Cornerstone/Mass Mutual and Price Waterhouse. Mr. Baker began his career at Eastdil Realty, Inc. where he was a senior officer and partner with responsibility for conventional and securitized debt and equity acquisitions and financings totaling over $5 billion, completed in partnership with Nomura Securities. In addition, Mr. Baker formerly served as a senior officer of the Real Estate and Commercial Mortgage Division of Nomura Securities International Inc. where he originated and structured conventional and securitized debt and equity investments on a principal basis and was a member of Nomura’s REIT underwriting team with responsibility for credit facility, secured/unsecured debt and equity commitments for public and private real estate operating companies. Immediately prior to joining Savills Granite, Mr. Baker was a Senior Managing Director of Secured Capital Corp. and co-head of Secured Capital’s New York Office. Mr. Baker holds an M.B.A from the Wharton Business School where he was the recipient of the Andrew Murphy Real Estate Fellowship. He also received Master of Architecture and Master of City Planning degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Environmental Design, magna cum laude, from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. Mr. Baker is a member of the Urban Land Institute and has been a frequent guest lecturer at the Wharton and Columbia University Business Schools and is an active member of the Zell Lurie Real Estate Institute.
Arthur M Milston
Mr. Milston is a Managing Director of Savills US, with over 20 years of experience in real estate and investment banking with a primary focus on capital market transactions. He has worked nationally throughout his career on numerous and varied sales and financing transactions including retail, office, residential, hotel and entertainment projects with an aggregate value in excess of $5 billion. Representative transactions include: Sale of the 300,000 sf leasehold interest in the retail and office component of the National Landmarked Union Station, Washington DC; Sale of the 1 million sf Queens Atrium Corporate Center, Long Island City, New York; Sale of the 6 million sf Colonial Properties Trust Mall Portfolio; Sale of the 500,000 sf International Plaza, Philadelphia, PA; Sale of the 325,000 sf Shops at Georgetown Park, Washington, DC; Recapitalization of the 600,000 33 Arch Street office building, Boston, MA; Sale of the 600,000 sf United Plaza office building, Philadelphia, PA; Recapitalization of 420 unit, West Village Houses Apartment Complex, NY, NY.
Mr. Milston is a former Director of Real Estate, East Coast Properties and Acquisitions Manager for Auburndale Properties, a privately held real estate company, where he was responsible for acquiring, managing, selling and financing office, retail and industrial properties throughout the US. Previously, he was with Cineplex Odeon Corporation where he worked on acquiring, developing and managing theatre properties throughout the Eastern United States. Mr. Milston is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration and Finance from Boston University.
John A WIlliams
Mr. Williams is a Managing Director of Savills with 25 years of experience in real estate investment banking, acquisitions and debt financing. Mr. Williams has been with Savills since 1998, during which time he has sold over 25 million square feet of retail properties including regional malls, power and community centers, outlet centers and lifestyle centers. Notable transactions include the sale of the Starmount Company Portfolio a $540 million, 3.3 million square foot portfolio of retail and office properties and the sale of Prime Retail, one of the largest owners of outlet centers for $635 million.
Prior to joining Savills, Mr. Williams worked at Deloitte & Touche and PNC Bank. Mr. Williams graduated from Providence College with a degree in Finance and received his MBA degree from Rutgers University with a concentration in Accounting.
Philip B Mahler
Mr. Mahler is a Managing Director at Savills US with over 15 years of real estate investment banking, development, acquisition and disposition experience. Over the last five years, Mr. Mahler has executed or is currently involved in more than $3.5 billion in medical real estate transactions totaling more than 15 million square feet including investment sales, portfolio sales, joint ventures, recapitalizations and development transactions. Prior to joining Savills Granite in 2003, Mr. Mahler was a member of Ernst & Young's Real Estate Capital Markets Group where he focused on asset monetization strategies for owners and investors of commercial office real estate with a deep focus in medical real estate. Additionally, Mr. Mahler advised his clients on individual asset sales, portfolio sales, and sale/leasebacks, as well as equity and debt placements, CMBS loan due diligence transactions and business process improvement projects..
While at Ernst & Young, Mr. Mahler was involved in almost 6 million square feet of office transactions with a value in excess of $1 billion. Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Mr. Mahler worked for UBS Realty Investors (formerly Allegis Realty Investors) in their Asset Management Department and Prologis (formerly Security Capital Industrial Trust) where he focused on acquisition, disposition and development transactions. Mr. Mahler graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Finance.
Dan E Gorczycki
Mr. Gorczycki is a Managing Director of Savills US, with 19 years of experience in real estate and investment banking and a primary focus on equity and debt financing. Mr. Gorczycki is a former Director of Holliday Fenoglio Fowler. During his career, he has worked nationally on a wide variety of sales, financing, debt restructuring and equity placement transactions including office, retail, hotel, residential, industrial and mixed use projects. Mr.Gorczycki previously served at Landauer Associates, Julien J. Studley, Inc., and Legg Mason, where he was involved in over $1 billion of transactions..
Mr. Gorczycki further developed an expertise in distressed loans while at the Greater New York Savings Bank where he was responsible for completing workouts on over leveraged assets. Mr. Gorczycki is a graduate of St. John's University with a degree in accounting and received his M.B.A. from New York University in 1988 with a degree in Finance and International Business. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Tom G Baker
Prior to joining Savills as Managing Director of the Hospitality Group, Mr. Baker teamed with industry veterans Marc Magazine and Dave Durbin to establish Humboldt Hospitality Advisors, LLC, a full-spectrum hospitality services firm based in McLean, VA. Previously Mr. Baker was Executive Vice President & Chief Investment Officer for the Barceló Crestline Corporation, Mr. Baker directed the business development effort of Barceló Crestline and Crestline Hotels & Resorts, including acquisitions, dispositions and asset management of 160 owned and leased hotel properties. A member of the launch team of Playa Hotels & Resorts, a $1.2B investment fund including Farallon Capital Management, ADIA, Brahmin Capital, Merrill Lynch and Marathon Asset Management, Mr. Baker served as EVP & Chief Investment Officer of both entities while focusing on asset management and recruiting permanent staff for Playa.
In a 35 year career, Mr. Baker has served in a number of senior management positions with Marriott International in both California and NYC, Nikko Hotels International and Durbin Hotels, Inc. Mr. Baker is a native of Rochester, NY and a graduate of The School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State University.
David L Durbin
Prior to joining Savills as Managing Director of the Hospitality Group, Mr. Durbin teamed with industry veterans Marc Magazine and Dave Durbin to establish Humboldt Hospitality Advisors, LLC, a full-spectrum hospitality services firm based in McLean, VA. Before forming Humboldt Mr. Durbin was President and CEO of Crestline Hotels & Resorts, Inc., a subsidiary of Barceló Crestline Corporation , and a third generation hotelier. CHR was established in March 2000 upon acquiring two privately held, highly respected management companies—Atlanta based Stormont Trice Management Corporation and Virginia-headquartered Durbin Companies, Inc. The acquisition proved to be a success, becoming one of the largest independent hotel management companies in the United States. The company successfully integrated two additional management companies and managed 67 hotels, resorts and conference centers with over 14,000 rooms and 5,000 associates in 14 states and the District of Columbia. CHR also managed high-end properties such as Marriott, Hilton, Renaissance, Sheraton, Westin, Crowne Plaza and Wyndham. Prior to joining Crestline Hotels & Resorts, Mr. Durbin was President and Co-Founder of Durbin Companies, Inc., a privately held hotel management and development company based out of McLean, Virginia. In that capacity, he was responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of hotels with sales in excess of $120 million with over 1200 associates. Under his direction, Durbin Companies’ properties received numerous hotel franchise awards including Marriott’s Partnership Circle Award and Bass Hotels’ Torchbearer Award. Mr. Durbin co-founded Durbin Companies after working with Marriott Hotels & Resorts as General Manager of Marriott’s Essex House in New York City.
Over his 15-year career with Marriott, he served in various management positions, including Restaurant Manager, Food & Beverage Director and Resident Manager of the 1,020 room Los Angeles Airport Marriott and General Manager of the Crystal City Marriott in Arlington, Virginia.
Marc A Magazine
Executive Managing Director
Before joining Savills as Managing Director of the Hospitality Group, Mr. Magazine was a Principal of Humboldt Hospitality Advisors, LLC. A full service Hospitality company that he co- founded with Dave Durbin and Tom Baker, both formerly with Crestline Hotels and Resorts. Before forming Humboldt, Mr. Magazine was Senior Vice President with CB Richard Ellis and led its Hotel Partners division in the Metropolitan Washington, DC area. In this capacity, Mr. Magazine provided hospitality real estate advisory services to owners, developers, lenders, hotel chains, operators and governments . He assisted clients in economic and market-based consulting, financing, investment analysis, venture structuring, management selection, contract negotiation, and strategic planning. In recent years, Mr. Magazine has closed over $4 billion in hotel transactions.
Mr. Magazine’s hotel experience began when his family owned the Hay Adams Hotel and as General Manager, Mr. Magazine had the hotel accepted as a Leading Hotels of the World. Mr. Magazine is a third generation real estate professional in the Washington, DC area. Before specializing in hospitality industry, Mr. Magazine has been involved in some of the major commercial and residential transactions in the metropolitan area, winning the Washington Business Journal Best Real Estate Deal Award for both Best Office and Residential transactions. Marc is currently a member of the faculty of Georgetown University for the Master of Professional Studies in Real Estate, teaching the Hotel Valuation course.
