Savills LLC President John Lyons was interviewed for a lengthy segment on The Street.com. In the segment, Mr. Lyons compared the RTC's role in the bailout of S&L institutions in the late 1980's to what is now taking shape on Capitol Hill as the government cobbles together a $700 billion bail-out package. Mr. Lyons highlighted potential issues with the proposed government rescue plan including how many elements of the plan remained uncertain as of late September. Among his many comments: "What was fundamentally different then was the sense that the federal government understood what the banks were, what their holdings were, and the majority of their holdings were mortgages and real estate."
